身体の線を追う中で、流れる様な曲線に故郷である四国の山を感じた。
女性の身体のフォルムに惹かれるのは、柔らかい形の中に
いつも私たちを遠くから見守る山の様な、母親の様な存在を連想するからではないだろうか。また、その柔らかく丸いフォルムに、私たちを構成する命の源を想像した。
ウロボロスの蛇。無限、再生、循環などを意味するという古代のシンボルであるが、人から見て最も大きいもの（山、地球、宇宙…）と最も小さいものは（細胞、DNA、原子…）は頭と尻尾で繋がる。対極にありながら密接な関係にある。
山が水面に映る様と、私たちの生命の源である受精卵が細胞分裂していく様をイメージして、人間の身体を用いて表現してみたくなった。。

 
Mayu Masuda’s flowing curves remind her of the mountains of Shikoku, her hometown, as she follows the lines of the body.
Mayu Masuda is attracted to the female form because the soft shape of the body reminds her of a mother figure, like a mountain that always watches over us from afar.
The Ouroboros serpent. It is an ancient symbol meaning infinity, rebirth, and circulation, etc. The largest thing (mountain, earth, universe…) and the smallest thing (cell, DNA, atom…) are connected by the head and tail. They are opposites, yet closely related.
Mayu Masuda was inspired by the reflection of mountains on the surface of water and the cell division of a fertilized egg, the source of our life, and wanted to express it using the human body.

「シンプル色んなことに疲れた」
これが最近の気持ち
外は暑いし、少し歩くだけでドッと身体が疲れる
そして余裕がない時は人と話すだけでも心が苦しくなる
辛い
それでも、自分の中にあるほんの僅かの「写真撮りたい」の気持ちが、私を動かしてくれたのかもしれない
夏の暑さにやられている自分にとっては最後の力を振り絞っている感覚だった
そんな今年の夏

 
 
I’m tired of simple things.
This is how I feel these days.
It’s hot outside, and just a short walk makes me tired.
And when I can’t afford it, even just talking to people makes my heart ache.
It’s hard.
Still, the small amount of “I want to take pictures” inside of me may have motivated me to do so.
It was a feeling that I was exerting my last ounce of strength in the heat of summer.
Such was the case this summer.
